Reda: Getting ready for the future

Machine factory modernised
If there is enough time, the products imported from China are also customised there. If it is a rush job, the products are imprinted in Brno. Reda implements all customising techniques in Brno with the exception of domings. Predominantly manual and semi-automatic machines are available for this purpose, because up until now Reda?s customers were above all small and medium-sized companies, whose volumes were manageable with the existing machines. ?The more we expand our European business, the bigger the orders become, so we are currently upgrading our machine park by adding more powerful and to an extent fully-automatic machines,? explained Minar. Reda additionally works together with external printing shops, if the orders exceed their own capacities. ?However, in the future we would like to be able to carry out all customisations in-house. It may indeed be sometimes cheaper to outsource certain things, but internally we have the full control over the entire processes and in this case that is more important than the cost aspect.? Reda delivers non-customised products within 24 hours from the warehouse in Brno, the delivery time for individualised products is six working days. The Reda warehouse has been and is still being highly modernised too: Four years ago the company started changing over initially from a manual to a semi-automatic warehouse, the next step will be a fully automatic warehouse. ?This is where we made the biggest investments over the past years in order to be able to remain sustainable,? explained Minar. ?When everything is in place, the customers will be able to see what phase their order is currently in at all times via the tracking service. The routes within the warehouse have already been shortened considerably: The products are sent out as soon as they have been customised. We no longer wait until a whole truck can be filled as was the case in the past.? Minar?s forecast for Reda?s future: ?From a hardware point of view we are well-equipped and ready for the future. Our biggest task is now to bring our operating methods and customer understanding into line with the European or international level. And we have to learn fast, because more and more multi-national companies are settling in the Czech Republic and they are used to specific standards.?
