Incentives & Promotional Marketing Live!
New trade fair for England
UK – The event organiser, Waypoint Exhibition and Event Group, has announced the launch of a new exhibition for the UK marketing sector. Incentive & Promotional Marketing Live! (I+PM) will co-locate at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC), alongside the established trade events Call Centre Expo, Event UK and Service Management Expo, September 21-22, 2010.
Providing a broad selection of products and services, plus industry knowledge, these events are supposed to attract a wide audience of buyers in the fields of marketing, direct marketing, sales promotion and incentives. One of the focal points of the show is going to be promotional products. The organiser, Waypoint, is jointly owned by Stephen Richards and Philip Soar. Richards was the originator of the National Incentive Show (NIS), launched in 1997. The NIS, which Richards sold to Reed Exhibitions in 2001 and which was in turn sold on to Touchstone in 2007, was discontinued this year due to the fact that the organisers, Touchstone, were experiencing economic difficulties. Richards was approached by the NEC in Birmingham, where the NIS had taken place until now to fill the Autumn slot that has traditionally hosted the NIS. “The concept of the I+PM picks up on the NIS concept and further develops it – because after all the NIS didn’t fail because its concept wasn’t good enough,“ explained Richards. The I+PM is to attract between 150 and 200 exhibitors as well as 2,500 visitors. “The days of the huge incentive shows are over: We feel that the future lies in combining smaller, more specialised shows, which address similar target groups.“´The new show is accompanied by a seminar programme, and an evening event is planned too. The I+PM is endorsed by the British Promotional Marketing Association (BPMA).
